New City, New Chapter: Vol 3: Birthday Girl

To a beautiful season, unexpected blessings, and another year of becoming.
Hi loves,
I’m writing this on the eve of my birthday. It’s just about two hours until midnight, and it felt fitting to lie down and reflect on the beginning of a new year of my life on a beautiful night in September. September also officially marks half a year since I moved to a new city, which somehow feels both incredibly new and like many chapters have been encapsulated into these past six months.

I’ll be honest, the past few months have been quite varied. A lot has happened in a relatively short window. I’ve been finding my footing, trying to build community, meeting some lovely people along the way, going on new journeys, and most recently, planning my special day.
There have certainly been a few emotional rollercoasters entwined with all of the beautiful moments, but more than anything, I’m looking forward to entering this new year of my life intentionally and being purposeful about this new season.
One recurring lesson I’ve observed and learned from this year is that sometimes, and even oftentimes, blessings might not always arrive wrapped in the prettiest packages. Sometimes, you might not even recognize them as blessings while you’re experiencing them.
I’ve learned not to let that discourage me.
I think there is something beautiful about continuing to move through life with an earnest disposition, doing things with good intentions, staying focused on what matters to you, and trusting that eventually, you will prevail. God has certainly shown up for me in ways this year that I couldn’t always see in the moment, and looking back, I’m truly grateful for all of it.
At times when you find yourself faced with challenges or things begin looking rather unpleasant despite your positive efforts and goodwill, I think it can be a sign that there is, in fact, something lovely arriving after the rain. Something beautiful may be waiting for you on the other end. You simply have to keep progressing through the downpour long enough to meet it, and eventually, sweeter moments will find you once again.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons I love having a birthday in autumn. The leaves begin changing their hues, swirling into a dreamy tapestry of golds, reds, and rich, beautiful colors. The entire season feels indicative of nature’s reminder that change can be beautiful, too.
And maybe I am meant to do the same.
There is beauty in every season of life. Sometimes, you only have to take a moment, a pause, to slow down long enough to notice it. Even in the rain, there is joy. After all, beautiful little diamonds fall from the sky to grace us with their presence each time it pours.

For this particular birthday of mine, rest felt especially fitting to have as the foundation of my event. I’ve planned a relaxing little celebration at home with a cute spa setup, a beautiful bouquet, pretty pink rosé wines, a skincare session, rose gold and champagne tones, a mix of some of my favorite foods, pretty desserts to share, and plenty of time to simply unwind. It’s been quite a lengthy day of organizing, but oh so very worth it, and I’m happy with how beautiful everything turned out. I can’t wait to enjoy it tomorrow.

After all of my recent happenings, I think a slower, softer birthday is exactly what I need.

And I’m truly grateful to be experiencing another year with all of you, too.

I can’t wait to share more dreamy moments, travel experiences, entrepreneurial endeavors, and, of course, a few fun side quests along the way. There is so much more I’m excited to experience, curate, and discover.
But for now, thank you for being here with me. Also, as I’m coming to a conclusion writing this, it’s officially my birthday :) I appreciate you, and above all, I’m grateful for another year of life. Thank you, Jesus.
Here’s to making this one fabulous, intentional, and very, very sparkly!!

P.S.
This September, I hope you are able to experience many joys and you feel loved and cherished by those around you, but most importantly, from yourself. You are worth every effort, every moment, every good thing. I hope you feel and know that you are blessed and that you continue to bless those around you through your kindness, love, and intentionality.
See you in the next chapter.
Love, C.T. 🌸🎂

Hi Camilla!
Belated happy birthday, and hello from the Share Your Blog Post weekend thread. The new-chapter theme really got me—I launched my blog a week ago in the middle of my own starting-over-season (back to work, new business, new blog), so your reflections on six months of finding your footing landed close to home. I loved "blessings might not always arrive wrapped in the prettiest packages." And a restful spa birthday at home sounds like exactly the right way to honour a year like yours! Here's to the next chapter and celebrating a beautiful YOU!
