Hello loves, I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa while celebrating my sister’s graduation. From the moment I arrived, the hotel’s stunning castle-like exterior transported me into what felt like a real-life fairytale.
When I arrived, I was immediately welcomed by the warmth and professionalism of the staff. From the receptionists to the servers, everyone went above and beyond to create a truly inviting atmosphere.
Location
The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Ottawa, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. I
enjoyed a seamless stroll to nearby attractions, including witnessing the Changing of the Guard ceremony and embarking on the Lady Dive Amphibus Tour, a delightful family experience combining land and water sightseeing.
Culinary Highlights
Breakfast at the Chateau Laurier was a highlight of my stay. The omelettes were perfectly prepared,
and a refreshing mint tea added a delightful touch to my mornings. A thoughtful surprise awaited us when the hotel gifted us with decadent sweet treats to celebrate my sister's milestone. The rich chocolate cake and gold-plated macarons were indulgent delights I'll long remember.
Afternoon Tea
The hotel's renowned afternoon tea experience was another memorable moment. With a delightful
selection of cakes, mini croissant sandwiches, and unique teas, including an Asian-inspired blend I particularly enjoyed, this is an experience you shouldn't miss during your stay.
La Terrasse
For those seeking a picturesque spot, La Terrasse is a must-visit. Whether in the early morning or under the evening's twinkling lights, the setting is nothing short of magical. The vibrant red flowers and glowing decor make it an Instagram-worthy gem.
The menu is fairly simple, focusing on shareable dishes, pizzas, beverages, and desserts. For something more substantial, I recommend the steak. I also tried a seafood appetizer, but unfortunately, it didn’t align with my dietary needs—something to keep in mind when ordering. Ending the evening at La Terrasse was a delight, with its serene charm making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view.

Beyond its striking architecture and prime location, the Fairmont Chateau Laurier delivers an
exceptional guest experience, blending timeless charm with modern luxury. The elegant staircase leading to the mezzanine is another detail that enhances the hotel's enchanting atmosphere.
