Welcome to Reflections, a space where I share the lessons, mindset shifts, and defining moments shaping my journey. Some realizations come gradually, while others arrive in an instant with a clarity that changes everything. This is one of those moments. I hope these reflections encourage you to recognize the patterns in your own life and step forward with confidence. Here is what has been on my mind lately…

Sometimes in life, you might find yourself doing everything correctly. You work hard, make the right plans, and put in the effort. Yet, when the moment comes to receive the reward, something holds you back. You hesitate. You slow down. You feel stuck, unsure why, even though you have done everything right.

This is something I have been struggling with lately. I can pour my energy into something for weeks, months, or even years, but as soon as I get close to the finish line, I begin to lose momentum. I hesitate and drag my feet. It has become a frustrating pattern that I have noticed in different areas of my life. I do all the work leading up to success, yet when I am right there, it somehow turns into an almost moment.

Feeling this way can plant seeds of self doubt, making you second guess yourself and even forget how capable you truly are. It can leave you paralyzed, questioning whether you ever really had what it takes. Have you ever experienced this?

The Cup That Was Already Full

The other day, I came across a video on social media where a woman shared a message about faith and action. She spoke about how we often ask God to help us, to guide us, or to open doors for us, but we forget that we have a role to play in the process.

To illustrate this, she held a cup of coffee and said something along the lines of, “God, please let this drink enter my stomach.” The coffee was already prepared. The situation was set up perfectly for her to succeed, but she was not lifting the cup.

The lesson clicked instantly.

It was only when she physically lifted the cup to her mouth and drank that it all came together. And that is when I realized I have been doing the same thing in my life. I prepare, I plan, I put in the effort, and then, at the very last moment, I hesitate. I let disbelief creep in. I stop moving forward. I self sabotage.

Her message was about free will and the importance of taking action in life. But for me, it struck a personal chord. I saw how it directly reflected my own struggle, which is the hesitation that comes at the very last minute.

Lift the Cup

Let this be your reminder to lift the cup. Whatever you are working toward, whatever you have been striving for, follow through. Sometimes, the blessing is already there. The opportunity is in front of you. You just need to take action.

For some, this might apply to different areas of life such as starting something new, making a decision, or stepping out in faith. But for those who, like me, struggle with hesitation at the final step, I hope this speaks to you as well. Do not let doubt creep in when you are right there. Do not let fear steal what is already meant for you.

This is something I am actively reminding myself. I will not let hesitation rob me of what I have worked for. And I want to remind you too. Do not stop when you are so close to the end. That is often when giving up feels easiest, but do not fall for it.

Let Jesus handle the rest.

I know it can be uncomfortable to surrender the outcome, to move forward without certainty, and to walk by faith instead of by sight. That is something I have struggled with, and I see how it has kept me from fully stepping into opportunities. But I am learning to lean into the discomfort, to embrace the unknown, and to trust that the path is already set before me.

So if you are feeling stuck, if you are hesitating when it matters most, let this be your sign to lift the cup. It might be the one thing standing between you and the breakthrough you have been waiting for.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever found yourself holding back at the last moment? Where in your life do you need to lift the cup? Or, if you have already overcome that last hurdle, share your story in the comments to inspire someone else.
